Ask an Atheist

On Tuesday and Wednesday, we set up a booth in the Free Speech area near the library with signs that said “Ask an Atheist” and “Hug an Atheist”. The goal of the event was to be open and inviting both to potential club members and to people who would never dream of joining the Atheist and Agnostic Society. We had a lot of people take business cards and sign up for the mailing list. We had a lot of theists start interesting and not-so-interesting conversations about faith, morality, and more. We also had some strange and/or negative interactions, but those were in the minority. Andrew Severin had his picture in the Daily with our “Hug an Atheist” sign.
